Maybe my second favorite MWY. Deserves all the jams.

Album whips tbh. I don't dislike the closer, but it kinda feels anticlimactic after King Beetle- that would have been the right closer imo.

you don’t know where you came from
you don’t know where you’re going
you think you’re you you don’t know who you are
you’re not you you’re everyone else

King Beetle is goated for sure. Same with Cattail Down and a handful of other cuts on this thing
one of my fav concert memories was the power going out at one of their shows in like 2010 or so and Aaron just grabbed his acoustic and played Angel just solo and unplugged in the dim light lol. it was dope as hell

It rules but it’s not their best one haha

Band gets a little too artsy fartsy for me and what I perceive to be pretentious. Maybe I read them wrong.

fair initial read ig but I think they’re probably one of the most sincere bands I know of. not really as much up their own ass rather just uniquely themselves

The album that took the longest to grow on me but now it’s honesty the one I return to the most. “The Fox, The Crow”, “Bullet to Binary Pt. 2”, and “The King Beetle” are some of my favorites. “Fig With a Bellyache” is the only one I skip (sorry)

Dad 4.5 has me even more intrigued. Idk how I ignored this after over a decade of loving this band lol.

Their lowest rated + least immediately rewarding (Christian Kermit and the local circus band sing Raffi) makes it pretty easy to pass over
