I don't know what to think anymore. They're about equal

this is far worse than essentially any mwy release

Ten Stories beats the pants off of this, imo. There are 3 or 4 really awesome songs here and the rest ranges from plain jane to b-side-quality stuff.

No, it just needs more listens than any mwy release

Might deserve more than a 3, but I can't even say when the last time was that I listened to the whole thing front-to-back which isn't the case with most of their other albums.

Purely based on how much I listen to them cover to cover my order would be Pale Horses > It's All Crazy... > Ten Stories > A to B > Catch For Us > B,S.

This album would be so much better without Fig With A Bellyache, that song just rubs me the wrong way. This album is probably tied for their "worst" with A to B, but it's still overall outstanding.

Interesting to see someone else put A->B and CFUTF that low, because I thought I was the only one. Since the most recent release, mine is probably like this:
B,S > Ten Stories > Pale Horses > CFUTF > A->B = I'ts All Crazy!

you guys are nuts for having A to B that low. Brother, Sister is easily the worst thing they've done, stick that down there.

@Danred, that's one of the only tracks on here that I love, but I can totally see why it may be loathed. I love the lyrics in that song and the creepy opening eventually bursting into a lush and circus-like second half.
"At the caterpillar picnic, Brother Butterfly stole a rhubarb stem, licked and dipped it in the sugar bowl."

Brother, Sister is one of my favorite albums of all-time lol so I don't think that one is going to budge.

It has In A Sweater Poorly Knit so I'll give it that

@dbizzles That's actually my exact ranking, at the moment. mwY are one of those bands that my rankings/ratings change regularly.
@rufinthefury You are an absolute madman for thinking B,S is their worst. Of course, since that is my favorite album of all time, I'm biased.

I think I'd be into their older albums more if I didn't get into them at the time I did. I was only familiar with a handful of songs by them before Brother, Sister came out and I picked that album up on a whim when it released.
Fast-forward 10 years and they are easily one of my favorite bands.

My first mwY album was Pale Horses. It's my 3rd favorite, but B,S and Ten Stories are just overall better constructed albums. Their earlier stuff is still amazingly good, but I just don't have the connection to them that I do to B,S and later.
