They might be sarcastic but this is indeed one of the best comedy albums ever made. And yeah Dio has rocked for a long long time.

Overweight comedians (as well as singers & guitarists) Jack Black & Kyle Gass are Tenacious D, the self-proclaimed writers of the greatest song in the world. Their self-titled debut LP is surprisingly solid, with the acoustic-based tracks given a full band to beef them up & add variety. 7 (of the 21) tracks are mostly funny skits & while everything is kept short, 51 minutes in total is a little too long. The lasting value is questionable & the lyrics do get a little too crude, but amongst the hilarious self-mockery there is a certain respect given to the music which is difficult to dislike. Recommended Tracks: Tribute, Rock Your Socks, Wonderboy & City Hall.

What makes it great isnt just the humor. It's the fact that each song is so catchy and sounds so good!
