Finally gave this a listen. Pretty good after just one go around. I need to get used to the singer's vocals though. He almost sounds grungey. I wasn't expecting that from what I thought was a post-hardcore band. This isn't post-hardcore at all. I have their first couple of albums, but have yet to give them a listen, which will probably put this LP in better perspective.

Glad you liked it man, but I would call these guys post-hardcore. I'm not sure whereabouts else you would put them.

Still think that the last guitar part on English Way is a waste. It's really good, but it would give such a great riff.

This rocks.

Gotta check this

Never heard this band before today actually, sweet riffs and atmosphere m/
|
| |
Deathcar is their best tune from their best album One Day Son, the album Grand Unification is also better but the tune Phalnuiks Laughter is bestest.
|
| |
I've known about them forever and liste n to them on occasion but only their early 2000s stuff. Quite nice

Props to Charlie for getting out of Busted and writing some sweet music.

"Allmusic have noted that Simpson is "perhaps the only pop star to ever make a convincing transition from fresh-faced pop band to an authentic alternative rock frontman."
