Vancouver garage rockers Japandroids follow in the footsteps of fellow drum & guitar duos The White Stripes & The Black Keys on their debut LP 'Post-Nothing'. Self-financed & self-produced, it is an amazingly melodic album despite it's unadulterated raw energy. Youthful & carefree, the sincere exuberance here is utterly contagious, even if there is still work to do on vocals, lyrics & diversity. The formula is simplistic & it runs out of steam towards the end of its 36 minutes, but this is music which is meant to be played loud & is certain to go down a treat live. Recommended Tracks: Young Hearts Spark Fire, Wet Hair, The Boys are Leaving Town & Sovereignty.
