It took me three or four listens, but this is excellent. The riffing is consistently great.
The main riff in Fear is unbelievable, it's one of my favorite metal riffs in a long time.

You don't like it at all? Is it just not your thing or what? When I first spun it I was like, "oh this is good, especially for a bunch of seniors" but about four or five full listens later I was pretty much saying "holy shit win".

I don't know, I don't have a problem with the vocals at all. It's just the riffs almost put me to sleep instantly. I'll give it some time to grow I guess.
It's a pretty methodical album as far as the riffs go, I could see that.

Methodical but hardly generic

Dio owns. Breaking into Heaven is the best song here IMO.

Props for using the word "eponymous." I haven't heard much of these guys, but their righteous poses on the cover of Revolver were enough to deter me from checking them out. Perhaps I'll give this disc a spin or two. I suppose Dio is always worth a listen.

When they make music like this, they have every right to pose that way

^^ You might be right, but I just don't want anyone to hurt their hip.
|
| |
I'd be more afraid of them simply dropping dead onstage-a hurt hip couldn't stop Dio (or did it?)

I need to hear this.

Yes, you do

holy shit. i've been avoiding listening to this because i honestly didn't think i'd like it, but holy shit i've never been more wrong. The solo (and just guitar in general) in Rock and Roll Angel is godly.
