I have to disagree balls, I got felt some melo-death influences here but this thing reeked of heaven shall burn-esque metalcore.

Review was awful. How are you going to compare melodic death metal to metalcore? The only thing that is remotely related about the genres is how overdone each genre is. Melo-death bands are just as bad as metalcore. Melo-death is actually a dead genre now. Can't say there's a single new band to come out in a while that was able to produce an album worth listening all the way through.
Anyway, the review as I said was terrible. Forgettable? I'm not a big Chimaira fan at all, but this album surely wasn't forgettable. Maybe you were asleep before you put the album on play because I can remember everything EXCEPT the tracks you mentioned, which were easily the worst. Impending Doom is boring as hell and On Broken Glass has nothing to distinguish itself from. It's a filler track IMO. Also, how could you not mention the instrumental? It's fucking brilliant. Easily the best song next to The Disappearing Sun.
As for the album, it's good on the exception of those two tracks. If you actually forget this album then I think you have amnesia or downs syndrome or you were asleep before you turned it on because up until Impending Doom I was impressed and I *hate* metalcore.

Ok, first:
This is not youtube, insulting my mental health will not get you favor
Second:
Its not about whether or not you like my opinion
Third:
Stop trolling and do something useful, I gave it a three which means its good. I Just didn't particularly like it.

I'm not here to get favored? Not sure where you got that idea, lol.
You're right it isn't, but what does that have to do with ANYTHING? I have a right to a rebuttal
and a right to express my opinion. Are you saying my rights are null?
I'm not trolling, I'm making a point. Your review sounded like it was written from someone who
hardly listened to it. I couldn't care less if you disliked the album, that's your opinion
evidently and I'm even less offended because up until now, Chimaira's albums have been mediocre. If
you re-wrote it like you actually listened to it... well, you get me point This Message Edited On 04.17.09

No I really don't get your point.
The only vibe I'm getting from you is that you somehow found this review while searching google and the second you spied a negative adjective you decided that I must be crazy cuz this is sum br00tal shxt dood.

Actually, no. I've been lurking here for a lot longer; quit getting butthurt because I think you
wrote an abysmal review.
I lol'd at you assuming I think it's brutal. It's hardly that. It's just good metalcore out of the
cesspool of garbage that plagues the genre or better yet, music. Not even close to 'br00tal shxt'
let alone my favorite album. This Message Edited On 04.17.09

Hell, why am I even arguing with you? You think Hollywood Undead is good.

You strike me as the typical angry youtube kid...
Maybe you were asleep before you put the album on play
think you have amnesia or downs syndrome
The thing is, you really haven't given me any evidence as to why my review is bad in the first place besides the fact that I think its forgettable and you don't. Since its so abyssmal, please explain.
If you're a lurker why haven't you picked up the lingo

How are you going to compare melodic death metal to metalcore? The only thing that is remotely related about the genres is how overdone each genre is.
And how similar they sound, e.g. Heaven Shall Burn, Scar Symmetry, (new) In Flames, etc.
I'm not a big Chimaira fan at all,
Your rating says otherwise.
If you actually forget this album then I think you have amnesia or downs syndrome
Or it's just generic and unimpressive, so he's gonna forget it amongst all the other metalcore.
The question at the bottom is "was this review well written", not "do you the pissed off fanboy agree with it", btw.

I was really hoping this was going to be a fan-fucking-tastic record like Resurrection, but it's not. It might take a while to grow on me, and I still want to hear the instrumental (not included on their MySpace page, unfortunately), but it's just not amazing. There are about three great songs (Secrets Of The Dead being the best), and then everything else is average. Not bad, just average.
It's a shame, I really like this band. Now I feel like I did when I heard Wrath for the first time, which, btw, is a better record than this.

I agree with you about metalcore, though Chimaira's The Impossibility of Reason always stood higher than other 'standard' metalcore albums for me. I'll check this out. This Message Edited On 04.18.09
