Sorry for the late response. USMA is Army, at West Point.

Damn, you have to be pretty smart to get into West Point (I've heard). Good job.

Eh, you could say that. I'm just doing my part to keep the draft away.

I'm sure that there are plenty of people that appreciate that ;)

great review man.Although im kinda biased about this i'll give it another try.
I was just worried about Tate's approach. What's that interest with soldier's lives??And is it worth to make a concept album about it??

Being in the military, I'd say that it is worth making a concept album about (as long as it is done tastefully, as it is here). He doesn't pass judgement one way or the other about war or politics - he keeps it limited (mostly) to the feelings and problems that soldiers are facing.
|
| |
Hmmm,i see the point.Although passing judgement on these aspects of war would have made Tate controversial, however focusing on the innermost feelings of the soldiers will probably touch some people with relevant experience

Exactly. Besides, I don't think it would make him controversial simply because so many bands (and actors/actresses) do it these days anyway.

This is a grower indeed.
But doesn't it get a little cheesy sometimes (I mean in Home Again there's a section where a little girl is singing, I suppose as the daughter of some soldier)?
(Hope i didn't strike anybody's nerve with that)

It could sound cheesy, I guess, but the little girl isn't some hired studio musician - it's the vocalist's daugher, which kind of brings things closer to home.

I don't know, i guess it might be unfair to say that, I just prefered the days when emotions were evoked by their songs and not the "actors".
Moot point anyway, I kind of like the record

I like Operation: Mindcrime by these guys, but everything else I don't care to hear, or it sucks ass. I am one of those people that is just like "this band sucked after Mindcrime" and doesn't care for anything else, and I doubt I will care for this.
Wow.. Once again, ignorance at its best.

I'm done trying to find even a shred of decency on Dedicated to Chaos, so I've picked this up. I passed on it when it was released, as I was just not paying attention to the band at that point in time. I've heard a track or two, and they sounded promising, or at least more like complex, well thought out music.

This is a great album, especially when it's compared to Dedicated to Chaos.

I was joking Willie :-)
Only have listen once and it was in the office (not the ideal environment).
To be honest I found it very average at the time...I definitely need to hear it again to have a solid opinion.

You should. This one is really more effective at a volume that allows you to hear all the subtler elements.
