Not sure I like this as much as the previous two but it's pretty solid.

These guys are popular enough to not be called overlooked but i still think they kinda are

Dunno if that makes any sense. Legends [2]

Yeah I get what you mean. They are without a doubt popular, but it could go so much further still. They are one of the most consistently great metal bands out there for several decades now after all.

I feel like if this album got re-released like Nothing did, it would be top 3 Meshuggah for me. The songs absolutely rip but the production has always been shit

Don't really have a problem with the production here at all. I think the more old-school production works well with the vibe of the album (faster, less Nothing-inspired like their post-Nothing works). I'm actually less a fan of the more modern production they keep going for, although it certainly doesn't suck it's getting a little stale, this big, rich, blown up sound.

Wonder if any of you feel the same!

Yeah Ophidian Trek and Alive really bring these older tracks to the next level. I think NMCC from Ophidian was one of my most listened to tracks one year. It sounds so fuckin good on that album

I really like the DEI and Chaosphere production thats and industrial and I also really like the heavy crispness of Koloss and Violent Sleep. Its the weird compression on the albums in between that bothers me.

Yea I don’t really have a huge issue with the production here. I’ll take it over obzen’s production any day.
