Take It All Away absolutely slays-and the fact that it's a ballad makes it's all the more interesting/intriguing.

This whole album is awesome and "Shadows" is one of the best songs on it. I had decided based off half-assed radio listens that I didn't like Breaking Benjamin, but if the dude helped co-write the song then maybe I'll look into them.

The best songs are The Diary of Jane and Breathe, although Blow Me Away isn't half bad...

Had Enough is cool, and the acoustic version of Diary of Jane is good too.

I'm still skeptical about giving that band a chance, but I'll at least check out the songs you two have mentioned.

"bad" as in sucks or "bad" in the 80s sense of the word?

Bad as in not actually that bad just so painfully average.

Well, maybe I'll just check their myspace page when I have a quick second.

Speaking of painfully average, I got the new Lacuna Coil promo from Century Media a few days back. I've listened to it once... not looking good.

Breaking Benjamin aren't completly horrible. They do know how to write a few catchy and enjoyable tunes. I would suggest listening to So Cold, Believe, Had Enough, and Dairy of Jane.

I can't explain it but this album is growing on me again. I don't think I'm going to change my rating again. But I've been listening to this a lot lately. This Message Edited On 03.24.09

I checked out Breaking Benjamin and it seems that the guy can write songs for other bands (or at least this one), but their own stuff is bad.

I still listen to this (and their debut) pretty often. I still don't see how people into this style of music can say it's no good.

Purely because its Christian. Its the same thing with all the Christan bands in the rock/metal category, doesn't matter how good they are. But hey, in the words of Ron White, "You can't fix stupid".

I don't think it's the fact that the album is no good, IMO I think there debut had catchier and more enjoyable songs overall. Though this album is still pretty sweet and is probably better then there debut.

Edit: Willie really got to thank you for introducing me to In Every Breath. I've been constantly listening to Distrust and the songs never get old or boring.

There are biases both for and against Christian music, and I think it's stupid both ways. That's why you'll never see me refer to a band as a Christian band. What the fuck does that mean anyway? I think this album catches more slack for the reason MisterBeefy stated; it's less catchy than their debut.

I saw that you changed your avatar. That's awesome that you're so into them. I still listen to In Every Breath all the time too. Last I heard they're going to be recording a full album soon.

I'm the same as Willie when it comes to this album. I find myself always coming back to listen to it. It is really good for the genre that it's in.

The fact people are judging bands by religion is disgusting. Just because the band members are of the Christian faith doesn't mean that there music will be based or even influenced by it. In most cases yes most bands do show a little bit of there believes through there music, but that doesn't automatically guarentee the band sucks because there Christians.

Hopefully they release there debut this year. Cause I'm really looking forward to it. By any chance will you be reviewing the album Willie?

First, I agree with you on that. Second, I'm impressed with your liberal use of the word "there" ;)

Yeah, I'll definitely review it as soon as it's out.
