Who'd have thought somewhere so cold, dark & isolating could produce quality BM? Oh wait...

Cheers Scuro.

No worries. You'll probably find Nadra the easiest to get into, they have a really glassy production that sounds awesome and they're really melodic. If you burn through the above bands also check Nyth, O (Null and Void is the album, since this band is particularly difficult to search for from name alone) Skaphe, Svartidaudi and Mannveira too. Probably some others I'm forgetting but those are the key ones.

I've never jammed Audn, should do that soon. Heard all the other ones mentioned and they all slay except for maybe Skaphe, not a huge fan of them.

Avoid Endalok though, the one bm band from that country I've encountered so far that bucks the trend of quality music.

Burzum's first 4 have some of the best overall atmospheres I've heard.

great art is often made by madmen. I don't discriminate between what kind of mad they are or were.

For me, this is the most 'black metal' album that exists. Nothing comes close to how evil this album sounds.

it's the kind of evil that wells up inside you and drags you into a personal hell over many years, like that episode of Ren and Stimpy when Stimpy crawled into his own belly button.
