@xNintendoCorex

I would agree with you on A Skylit Drive, but The Devil Wears Prada is somewhat of a guilty pleasure for me. When I listen to them, I usually skip to a couple of songs and then move on to some other band. But, I will say they make some good car music.

Thrice aren't a christian band. Dustin became a christian after Artist in the Ambulance, the rest of the band are not christians.

"i feel an angel lift me up..."
"im due for a miracle..."
Pretty sure he was Christian for that record.

lots of people sing about angels and miracles without being god-botherers

You sure? There's at least 3 songs w/ references to it; why would he mention it so much?

Yeah T&N isn't strictly a Christian label.

Skillet's new stuff isn't too bad.

Amazing how much better they got over the two albums to be honest. Best when it gets to the new style like 'Clouds' and 'Contact' but the more aggressive stuff is great as well. Only 'Tides' and 'New Sun' don't quite hit. Does anyone else hear a lot of similarities with Thrice's 'Air' part of the Alchemy Index?

This is like, the single most uplifting album I've heard in my entire life. So freaking good.

Demo version of the Horde is better though.

New Sun is pretty much the best song this band has done since Terrible! How Terrible For The Great City!

This album is amazing. Very good review. As you said, one of the best aspects is how the singer expresses doubt without really betraying a sense of belief and conviction. I never could stand jellybeans and cotton candy Christian rock, because I myself (having been Christian at one point) couldn't really accept that no one doubted anything. Questions like the one asked in "Contact" (Why do you have doors that close?) always seemed relevant and crucially important. This lyrics throughout this album are smart and honest, and thought provoking even for me, now very happily far removed from Christianity.
