Age is only an excuse for mediocrity in a society which sucks cock.
I'll keep that in mind for when she releases a mediocre album

It was said that her lyrics are the way they are because of her age, when in reality they are the way they are because of her brain.

Well, we'll come back to this in 20 years and see. You could have lobbed the same criticism at Lennon and McCartney in 1963.

I don't understand why someone who doesn't even like pop would complain about the lyrics of a 19 year old girl. It's not as if she's trying to blow our minds with philosophically advanced lyrics, she's just singing about boys she likes like any other teenage girl would do.

I'm not looking for my mind to be blown, and expecting that of anything is how one is constantly disappointed. But she is a singer/songwriter, so I think she should be naturally inclined to put more effort into her wording because its below average even for a teenie bop magnet.

I agree with the review. She just has a way of expressing herself very well, not acting older or younger than her age.

it's not average at all. it's honest, it's simple, and it lacks any sort of pretense whatsoever. it's gut reaction lyricism to the seemingly mindblowingly complex events in the life of a teenager. and she nails it every time.
i still think this is the best pop album of 2008. and her aol sessions rule.
and she's so so fit.

It must suck for women. Not only are people critical of her music they must comment on her looks too. She reminds me of a mouse.

It bothers me that you gave Soulja Boy a 3 review but seem to have a problem with these lyrics.

I would put up with the screaming retards to go see this girl play live.
Ffs so good, every time someone bumps this review I have to put the album on. I'm constantly considering reviewing it but I have nothing to say except that it's awesome.

the style of hip hop soulja boy plays means that the lyrics are kinda irrelevant

If you read the review you'd know exactly what I think of Soulja Boy's lyrics.

it wasn't concerning taste...

you've got a good point there though.
I have no problem with his taste, if he likes something different then so be it. It just seems like if he's so concerned with lyrics then he couldn't possibly give a 3 review on that album, although I guess he could enjoy the lyrics on that album, I haven't read his review in awhile.
