Thought the review was abit too understated for my liking, but what was said was mostly true and balanced. Its not as good as Incesticide and for Rock/Grunge Purists abit of a Pop-ish album, but some of the less well known songs are belters - not one song from this album stands out as a poor song. Could of said more about Endless Nameless and Territorial Pissings as well as In Bloom, Lounge Act...I could go on! This album has to be in the Top Ten ever if you want to include mass popularity! This Message Edited On 02.06.06

Smells like teen spirit killed this album, they over play that song to this day, there was so many good songs on this record tho,"In Bloom","come as you are" "Something in the way","Lounge act","polly" and "lithium" being the albums best songs.

And with this album, Nirvana ended the era of musicianship and creativity. Thanks, Kurt.

^^^^ finally, someone agrees with me..... nirvana was truly the first emo band, my friend wont listen to me when i tell him that his precious music came from a source like Nirvana. Oh well, i liked the album, Nirvana was the band that got me into music. period. now saying that, i listen to different, more talented and conceptual bands now, but every now and then i take out some Nirvana and give it a listen, good stuff.

Happy Birthday Kurt! You should be 39 today.
Dumb was about sniffing glue. Just because the music was depressing doesn't make it emo. About A Girl was, well, about a girl. So now every song ever that was about a girl is now emo?
Personally, I don't believe Kurt killed himself, but I'm not gonna get into that.

How the **** was Nirvana emo? I will never think they were emo. Plus, Kurt had no reason to kill himself. Finally someone agrees with me. I think he was murdered. RIP Kurt. This Message Edited On 02.20.06

f u c k , courtney love is an insane b i t c h.
i highly doubt Kurt was emo. sure, he was distructive and a lil druged up, but still, im thinkin he wouldnt go and cry about something stupidly simple... as my little spur-of-the-moment saying goes, "im gonna be all emo about this and cry!"

he didnt wear chick pants, right?

The term wasn't even coined in the '90s, what are you all talking about?

Stone Temple Pilots? They were just a crappy rip-off of Pearl Jam. Nirvana sang songs that had real emotion and had some cool guitar riffs. I agree that this album is over-rated, but listen to In Utero and see if you have the same opinion. This Message Edited On 02.21.06

By guitar riffs, do you mean a couple of strummed chords that sound good together? A little overrated? This is some people's bible ffs!

overrated? from a bunch of people who are into metal! ok sure - mudvayne :S wtf! ok so the guitars arent played classically, in neat structured ways - what kind of grunge is? Not a legend? He will go down in history as a tragic loss to the music industry even if sad individuals like yourselves like it or not! Nevermind, whatever anyone says was a landmark album - it has touched millions of lives, it has influenced thousands of bands! Everyone is entitled to an opinion, its just sad to come on here and read idiotic comments left by very bitter people berating a guy thats been dead 10years! Kurts an idol to many, and a Rock Icon deal with it!This Message Edited On 02.25.06

Actually to many people Kurt Cobain was not a tragic loss to the music industry, and I'm not into metal at all. Just because an album is influential doesn't make it good, as there are plenty of musical styles that are just fads and fade out quickly. The Beatles were hugely influential and they backed it up with solid music that has lasting power and that keeps attracting thousands of new fans. Nirvana is hugely overrated. One of the most overrated bands.
