What's wrong with adding some screaming to songs? The lead singer doesn't scream throughout the CD, just the majority of it. And change your name to punkass.

punkbass, have you ever tried screaming? it's hard to do well, i myself have a very difficult time with it, even though i do bear similarities to the screamer here, it's not perfect, but it's still a scream... anyway, screaming actually is a bit harder than singing.

Wow punkbass, you say that all screamers suck, and have no talent, AND you go after Radiohead? You really did open Pandora's Box. And have you ever tried to scream, with music, for 3 minutes? It's damn hard.

If you scream correctly it's not as hard as you think.

By far one of my favorite CD's, I can just listen to it without skipping any songs which is rare.

This is the only band with a "screechy goblin creature" screamer I like some. Fallen, the title track and Long Way Down are each great, but I haven't really bought the album yet. Jimmy's singing voice is pretty good.

Decent review, but you left out that Long Way Down is a remake that was written by the Goo Goo Dolls on their album 'A Boy Named Goo'. [/quote]
I doubt most people know that. I didn't know that for quite awhile after I first heard the song.

Neither did I, but then I looked on the back of the album and saw 'Long Way Down written by Johnny Rheznik (sp?)', or something along those lines.

I want to hear the original of "Long Way Down", I love the Haste the Day version, so I might like the original.
To update the screaming converstion, I fixed my own scream. When done correctly, it's more death/metalcore like than anything else. It's no longer painful for me, but i still think my scream sucks.

Good review
Im not really a metalcore fan but I agree with you guys on this. Each of the songs are very similar here. I'd actually probably give it a 2.5/5 instead of a 3.5/5 if it didnt have the songs "fallen," "walk on," and "when everything falls"
Those songs make up for the others.

I saw these guys last night and they put on a great show so I think I'll check this out.

i fell in love with this album, just like i do with every Haste the Day record, but i do have to say that Burning Bridges was better, especially lyrically.

nah, this album is really boring. Formulaic and generic to an unbelievable degree. Pressure the Hinges is better, but not by a whole lot.
