It grew on me. There's so much going on here; I keep discovering new stuff.

"If the World" may be the worst song ever written.

"There Was a Time" almost makes up for it.

The problems with the noticeable blips are unacceptable on something that they worked on this long.

The first day I would have given this a 3. With time, it has grown on me.

"Chinese Democracy is comfortably the most consistent product the band has put out since Appetite For Destruction."

Problem is, that isn't saying much.

This grew on me alot since I picked it up last week.

I still find myself skipping a song on two, but after all these years I was expecting a disaster, so I guess thats saying alot.

Good review too, very insightful. Will be looking forward to what Axl does in the future.

I am entitled to an opinion you know.

Guns N Roses have always been overrated. Best song they ever done was November Rain, and probably the only good one too.

I'm well aware that you are entitled to your opinion, however...
November Rain is quite possibly their most overrated song (most boring first half of a song I've ever heard) alongside Sweet Child O Mine. It was on their worst album too.
To say they were always overrated is ridiculous. It took a whole year for Appetite for Destruction, their best album, to have any impact whatsoever.
And Velvet Revolver 'better'? They've only released two albums, and half the songs on both are filler.Guns released a perfect album with no filler, another flawless half-album, two albums with approximately a quarter filler on each, an underrated album of punk and glam covers (only done better) and this, over-anticipated yes, but some of the greatest work of modern rock is still here. This Message Edited On 12.23.08
