True, you have me on that one. However, I think all of this praise for the album comes straight out of the fact that the world has been waiting 17 years for this. If this had been released 10 years ago, who really would have cared?

Bull. If I had gone into this with 17 years of expectations I would have hated it, and many will. But GNR was never that great and I just listened to it. It's still crazy to listen to an album that's been in the works that long, but I had nothing riding on this. And had it been released 10 years ago it probably could have ridden the industrial metal/nu metal (even though it is nowhere close to being nu metal) craze all the way to the bank.

I just listened to it on Myspace and it didn't strike me as special, but not as bad either. Some of the solos were rather cool. But it seems like the kind of album that might quickly become very boring.
