Vinushka is probably my favourite song off the album, when the death metal drums kick in, I headbang everytime.

Wow... just wow. Might bump this to a 4.5 later. Definitely the most impressive work I've ever heard from these guys.

I just can't help but say... I need to find and backhand meatyard for rating this 1 star, as for Hyperbore, well, he's on a different end of the metal spectrum from me so I'll leave it alone. I respect people's differences in musical taste, but this album is a genuine effort and contains some truly good music, I can't see disliking the genre or even the band to justify an "awful" rating for this album.

I had never even heard of Dir En Grey two days ago, but I bought Uroborous because I heard Red Soil.
Damn this is cool. That growl is amazing. A prog/death metal vocalist in an expiremental rock band. Whoda thunk?

So my friend played this in his car like a week ago. It was okay from what I heard but I checked it out anyway cuz this seems to be well accepted on the site. Decent album I suppose, but I can't really get into much. I like the heavier tracks a lot more than the more poppy, single tracks.

I love you. This is a very well-written review and properly addresses this beautiful album. I am a fan of J-rock and Visual Kei, and would like to point out that there are amazing J-rock bands out there, much like Diru.
Dir en grey will forever be an inspiration for me in everything that I do, and hope they continue making such beautiful music. Thank you for telling people about this amazing album!
(Dir en grey live was the most amazing experience of my life. VK: nothing like it onstage.)

Easily Dir en grey's best work as a collective, this coming from a guy who likes most of their stuff.
Except for Red Soil. That song sucks.

This is an excellent review, I pre-ordered the deluxe limited edition in August, and it was well worth the cost. One of my favorite albums ever. It's even better live though, going and seeing Dir en grey is the best decision I've ever made.

Vinushka, Gaika, Stuck Man and the ending to Red Soil are soo intense.

Saw them yesterday in Holland, fucking awesome show. Mindboggling how much of the vocal stuff Kyo can pull off live.. including the gibberish in Red Soil.
