I gotta come clean. I totally read your post thinking it was from october this year. Either way, I'm still super fucking triggered by it and disagree hard

I don't know if sputnikmusic shares the same thoughts, but on rateyourmusic there's a rather active group of haters for this band and I can't seem to find any reasonable explanation for that. Does Drudkh have a history with NSBM or something? Cause the music seems pretty innocent to me.

Apparently theyve got some gross ideologies going on, i cant remember what though.

Oh yeah, Drudkh got NSBM shit going on. One of Saenko’s other projects, Hate Forest, is way more open about it.

But there’s signs in their own music too. Sunwheel’s a direct reference to a Nazi symbol. Blood in Our Wells is a direct reference to an antisemitic propaganda point that Jewish blood was poisoning wells in Eastern Europe. A lot of support for the Ukrainian Insurgent Army who fought with the Nazis against the Soviets in WWII...

Drudkh’s pretty fucked. Pirate their shit so you can get that tasty riffage without putting money in their pockets

Thanks for your prompt response, porcupinetheater, learning new things every day. Still enjoying the band, no need to be a snowflake, I mean Black Metal is the genre of darkness, tilting towards evil topics is morally acceptable in art as long as it doesn't spawn too many fanatics who take it too seriously.

best album for this time of year. I would never pirate music from a band for their beliefs, everyone deserves to eat. I cant understand their lyrics anyway and the album and song titles/art is harmless. Never understood the hate. Some of the best atmo bm ever made here without a doubt, nothing but respect for these guys, truly talented musicians

tbh idrc what a band's beliefs are all that much, just so long as i vibe wit the music

of all places, why would you look to a black metal band and expect squeaky clean belief systems?
