I changed the album art to this because this is the version that's on all newer physical copies of the album as well as official digital releases. Same for all their albums up until Microcosmos. If enough people don't like these covers I'll change them back but personally I like this artwork better and it's the artwork that the band chooses to associate with these albums at the moment so I figure the update is appropriate.

idk if the band is choosing to associate with those, i dont think the bands get much of a say in it once they leave the label. i personally like the original art better but it doesnt really matter.

These new covers were actually first featured on the Season of Mist reissues of their early albums. The band is still signed to SOM, and presumably they at least had some say in the artwork changes. These are also the covers that are on their Bandcamp page, so it seems to be what they've stuck with.

I guess it is possible that the label created new artwork for the albums against the band's wishes, but who knows. Either way, I think the updated covers are better and suit the music very well.

oh i like most of their other stuff, but with as repetitive as their songwriting is, the atmosphere typically grabs me more when the tempo is higher.

Ah nice. That one's my favourite of theirs. All of their albums are worth at least a listen though

Why did the album art change? I liked the painted cover [2]

One of my favorite album covers ever, actually. Those colors are perfect.

And usually on sputnik it seems like we try to stick to the original artwork.
