Besides maybe Plaguewielder I have no idea why mid era Darkthrone is so underrated. Hate Them for instance is lowkey top 5 or 6 Darkthrone and this seems really good on first listen. The others are all solid.

probably a big chunk of the people who dig darkthrone only care about the trve kvlt bullshit and so just care about the black trilogy, i dont think theres bound to be a lot of overlap between black metal dorks and crust punk. youre right about hate them being underrated though, hate them & ravishing grimness arent exactly drops in quality from panzerfaust. maybe theyre less interesting because they werent contemporary with the church burnings & stabbies
