I recommend checking out both compilations and all the albums released as the “series”. they’re rather dated but if you’re a fan of early 90’s Uk electronica, they’re pretty awesome.
black dog production’s bytes is my personal favorite if you want somewhere to start.

the combo of eutow and c/pach has kept me coming back to this record but on the whole I just don't think autechre will ever click for me. I'd rather study ants building an anthill than search for my delight in this most clinical of discographies

I've always thought EP7 and Untilted were actually their most approachable releases in terms of active listening. From the rest I would only consider this one and Confield as functional headphone music for studying and exercise.

The love for LP5 is a weird phenomenon, It's just strange that guys who don't main electronic think highly of LP5 of all albums. I'd expect Ae-tourists to be more into Chiastic Slide and Draft 7.30, which are more direct, playful, emotion-inducing and diverse.
My best friend and I both listen mostly to electronic, are Ae fans, and we think LP5 is goofy af and rather wearisome on multiple listens. No song from that album would make it in my top 50 Ae.
