Unearth is nice and brutal.
Just like your momma's love-making.
While they seem to gain influence from almost every type of metal they (thankfully) refrain from using goat-fucking growls and miscellaneous metal techniques that make me want to spew.
As far as the repetitiveness - I agree to a degree. There are certainly passages that made me say goddamn; I wish there were more of these on this album (i.e. about 1:40 through Grave of Opportunity and the finger tapping in Cutman).
That being said, The Oncoming Storm is the shiznit and this isn't quite as good, but sweet nevertheless.

[Quote="wakeupdead"]all the bold words "an" should be "a." "An" is only used if the following word starts with a vowel. Otherwise good review, I want to get this soon

Of course, I know. It was kinda late when this went up, so it slipped through a proof read. Thanks for the hint, correted! :thumb:

I thought this would wear off after a bunch of listens. I'm actually liking it more. Still falls a good deal short of III but I'm more than satisfied.

Natey 5280 - not to jump on the bandwagon, but you do the Mile High City dirty by badmouthing Ken Susi.
First off, he has more skill in his pinky finger than you have in your whole body. Second, I can say with supreme confidence that he isn't gay after seeing the groupie parade in his trailer post-show in Tucson. Not that I give a fuck about someone's sexual orientation anyway...
You = wrong + lame.

I just thought his stage antics were retarded. I don't deny his talent or sexuality. Have you guys seen him perform?

Whoops - I woke up a 'lil pissy this morning.
I've seen them live at least once per album since Strings of Conscience, and I think they rock
live. As per his stage antics, I haven't really seen him do anything but rock out as expected.
My buddy's band in Tucson has opened for them a bunch so I've met them all in person a lot - maybe
since they are such cool guys I have a distorted viewpoint...
Or maybe I'm too busy punching fashion HC kids in the face to notice This Message Edited On 10.10.08

He wrote his number on his arm and kept making 'call me' faces to the crowd; another time he had a vagina and a dick drawn on his arm and like jerked it off and swallowed it or something weird. Then he did push-ups. Then he like humped the security guard, all the time with like a huge smile on.

saw these guy's last night in Denver. It was a shame that Protest the Hero almost derailed the entire show with the most boring live performance i've ever seen. It's amazing how many people on this site practically suck PTH's dicks. But I digress.
Unearth came out and punished it with Great Dividers. Unfort. the crowd was full of the softest group of scene-kids ever. I miss a good pit. The crowd was so dismall that Unearth peaced out without an encore.

Short for "unfortunately", but that is just being really lazy.

shit... was going to see unearth on the 24th with the same bands... guess not. I might not be able to keep myself from killing one or two scene kids at a concert like that. Oh well... unearth rules.

Seeing these guys tonight with Protest The Hero, Whitechapel, The Acacia Strain. I'm excited to see this material live. Oh and PTH...fuck yes.
