This album was released the day I was born. It may be my least favourite Anathema album, but it's still pretty cool since they're one of my favourite bands.
The main thing that irks me about this one is Vincent's mostly laughable vocal performance... there are some spectacular displays of his ability (Suicide Veil standing out the most) but other than that his voice just oozes with so much melodrama that it's almost sickening. And yeah, Hope sucks, though its opening speech is a nice touch.

Timeless, production not great, pity, but the times that be, budget etc, they had high hopes, far far beyond what other bands could ever dream of. Very creative album, daring. Far Away indeed and Good Enough for me. After Alt 4 they became predictable, no more leftfield surprises.

For me , all the magic of this bands is hidden in tracks like Suicide Veil (extremely fantastic) , radiance , eternity Part3 or Cries on the wind. Great atmosphere , so dark and so much passion. I wish the production was better.
