I finally forced myself to listen to this album. I was shocked... Many good things here. I'll have to spin it a few more times before I can rate it.

I agree. After Shogun I was expecting another steaming pile of Metallica rip-offs. I was soooo wrong. The vocals still need a bit of retooling but overall it is a great comeback album for Trivium.

Shogun (The track) had probably my favorite riffs out of any song last year.

Shogun at 7:45 gets me so jacked.

He Who Spawned The Furies at 2:00-3:12 is fucking fantastic.

Torn Between Scylla and Charybdis, Into the Mouth of Hell We March, Shogun,...Throes of Perdition too.



Down From the Sky and Kirisute Gomen are good songs.



The other 5 are average or worse.

Shogun is easily the best song they have written and i can say that with alot of confidence. Its funny how 18 months ago i was a complete fan boy over these guys haha how times change, will spin this again tonight for the first time in a long time.
