daniel mongrain does the guitars as well so it's a good mix of people. it's not super duper amazing but it's a solid tech death album

Throes of Perdition is always a banger live, the intro build up is perfect before the MOSH.

Ascendancy was one of my first "heavy" albums. It was hyped as fuck when it came out, and so was Crusade, which was definitely overhated for what it was.
Surprised to see this much positivity for Shogun considering it was not that well received, especially around these parts - lots of 1s and 2s on the first few pages of the review.
Ah, the 2008-2009 period. The funniest thing for me from that time when Willie did that 2.5 Skyforger review and everyone just rated it accordingly lmao

nah The Crusade is a pile of puke. Only albums I ever liked by these guys growing up were Embers to Inferno, Ascendancy, and In Waves, even then it was only a short romp with them before I got sick of hearing them.

It was a pile of puke, but I don't see how Trivium doing a piss-poor imitation of Maiden here isn't a pile of puke too.

Them pretending they can play actual Thrash/NWOBHM is slightly more tolerable than what The Crusade was.
