"How can you love Pretty Odd"
IDK maybe by recognizing what interesting instrumentation and well-written melodies sound like.

Haven’t heard all of Pretty Odd but Nine in the Afternoon is better than anything else I’ve heard from them

So I finally listened to this for the first time (I know I'm incredibly late). It's ok, but I have one really big problem with it, and it probably sounds like a weird nitpick but it's definitely the one I have. I know Brendon Urie is the central focus of the band, but damn, can't he just shut the fuck up and let the instrumentals breathe? I know people have criticized albums like Holy Bible by MSP for trying to cram too many words into verses, but this shit is way worse

"The only good Panic album. The rest can fuck off somewhere"
lol, that doesn't give me much hope for the rest of the discog. I haven't tried their other stuff yet, but this doesn't make me want to

Probably the catchiest album of all time. Whoever wrote the hooks for this was a god.
Also I think I like Time To Dance the most from this nowadays.
