When this was out I didn’t listen to anything else for a month, now I just throw it on occasionally. Maybe I overplayed it but more likely it hit the spot at the right time, the stars aligned & it was awesome. I have no regrets.

Do you guys dig Nine Types of Light? I still haven't heard it because I'm not in an 'indie' phase right now but should probably check at some point.

I personally don't but it was reasonably well received.

It took away 90% of the energy from this record imo.

Fair enough.

Hey Doof, what are the worst records with an average of 3.5+ that you know of? (bonus points if they're even higher like Brand New was, that Devil & God album was a massive -2.5 for me).

So, 3.5s that are 1.5

4s that are 2s etc.

Damn, check my ratings. There are loads.

Anything by Weezer that scores over 3.5 probably.

I'm planning on severely injuring my leg rendering me unable to work, so I have time to go through your ratings.

Good idea.

I really dislike Simon and Carbuncle, you know the dudes, Paul Simon and the other one. Think I rated that a 1.5 and it has a 4.4 average or what have you

I like it, bold choice.

Man, I don't think I can bring myself to listen to some of that rubbish you have 1d, there's a lot of it... Thanks for reminding me of a couple I've actually heard though, time to lower those averages.

9TOL has its moments i think, it's seeds which is dire

I marginally prefer Seeds purely for reasons of variety and tempo shifts - it isn’t very good though. I wouldn’t go as far as to say ‘Dear Science’ is a one off in their discog for me - but it’s far and away my favourite.

I really like RTCM as well but agree that it's not on the same level as this.

I love Nine Types of Light

I think this is falling a bit for me but I don't think it could ever be lower than a 4.5

i think the first three albums are all really great to excellent, original sounding art rock. 9TOL makes sense as a continuation and displays a band that is aging. seeds is a bit uninspired to me.
