Well Into Eternity fit into melo-death, progressive death, and power metal. Mostly melo-death to me though. And I've heard great things about Heartwork, but I haven't heard it yet.

Yeah, Into Eternity could fit a lot of genres. I have them labeled progressive metal in my iTunes. You need to check out Heartwork. How have you not already checked them out? Next you're going to tell me you haven't heard Cynic, Atheist and Believer either...

Haha well I definitely have been wanting to check out Heartwork, but I haven't actually done it yet. Probably will try to download it tomorrow.

But on the subject of this album. I can't decide between a 4.5 and a 5. Some days I'll think this is absolute classic, but then other days I just won't think its worth a classic rating. I'll probably just leave it at 4.5 for now.

There's times during a couple songs where I might think that it's not a 5. But since Punish My Heaven, the title track, Lethe and the two closing tracks aren't that far apart it's not long till it's a 5 again. (that's not to say the rest isn't awesome)

Really? I'd never even put Into Eternity into the melo-death category. I don't know what my favorite one would be... probably Carcass- Heartwork.
This is why Willie is one of my fav's around here. Heartwork destroys this in a heartbeat.

idk, I thought Heartwork was overly basic

Great album. Seriously. One of the best metal albums I've heard. I'm going through their discography now.
The review, however, took an undeserved potshot at metalcore in the first paragraph. It's fine to dislike it, but what did bashing it actually contribute to the review.
I know this review is old, so I'm not caught up on it, but try not to alienate your readers with unnecessary stuff like that. Other than that, good review. I agree almost 100%.

He really likes The End of Heartache and Jane Doe so idk how much that part applies anymore.

Haha, okay, cool.
It's not that big of a deal, but it's a general thing. When reviewing stay on topic, don't trash other stuff.
I may bump my score up to a 5. The only reason why it's a 4.5 is because I didn't want to dole out a 5 to an album I've only given five spins. We'll see.

This was the first DT album I got, but it's taken the longest to 'click' with me. Now i think it's their best album.

I'm proud to say that I bumped up the rating to a 4.2! Only 0.8 to go
And now it's gone back down again This Message Edited On 04.25.09
