This cd is just as good as anything they have put out. The move to the major label did not hurt them at all, in fact, i think it helped. It is a slower overall album, sadmafioso is right, it really is more of a grower.

It is noticeably slower for the most part, but it makes the heavier stuff pop way more and the contrasts make it better methinks...

Good review Brent. I sort of got more of a 3.5 rating feel out of the review, but I can sense why you went with a 4. The last few comments seem to suggest that this is a bit of a step back from ‘Cities’. Is there anything as amazing as ‘Fin’ on here…???

Really? Honestly I thought it read as more of a 4.5 haha, I dunno...the album is really great, though I do think I prefer Cities just a wee bit more...I don't think they could ever make anything better than Fin though...that song gives me chills haha...

Fin is so much better than Miserabile Visu...then again...Fin is probably the most amazing thing Anberlin has ever done...

You make these guys sound really interesting. Really tight review + descriptions! May get around to this in a bit.

I may have jumped the gun putting this at a 5, but i won't change it, every song his is amazing, and as a whole, is much better than Cities. Cities featured some of Anberlin's best songs though, so i'll probably end up spinning Cities more frequently than New Surrender
