I liked it man...it was an interesting take and you stuck with it so it was funny in the end...i like this album a lot but it's in no way a five, tho i agree it's billions of times better than the first 2...
When you review try to be a little more objective...bdm are pretty formulaic, though they are amazing at what they do, also i don't think shannon melded that well to bdm on this go...he seemed a little off but i'm hoping that changes next album...when you do a 5 review you have to make the reader believe it's a 5, this didn't really do that but it was still good enough

probably because you never hinted at humor. maybe a witty comment or something in the intro and i would have felt completely different about this review. but as it stand it reads like someone being serious especially with the rating so high i can't help but think you're being serious and if all those over exaggerated adjectives are serious than it is funny, but more in a pathetic wayThis Message Edited On 08.30.08

if this review had iluvatar, mynameischan, cocaine, jom, etc. as the writer people would be like omg your so hilarious omg yayayayay! can we be internet friends...give the guy a break he tried to do something funny and it came up short but at least he tried...it's better than a tbt or entire telling of a band's history without any review...you show potential in your writing and you could be a funny cat with more practice and a little less or more subtlety (sp)...don't let these debby downers/comedy pros get you down
p.s. i know it would have been a greater piece of writing/comedy/art if it was the names i mentioned i was just trying to make a point...i named writers that i think are the best on the site at writing reviews so as to not hurt any feelings...it just seems like people tend to jump on reviewers who try to do something different if they don't have staff or contributing under their username...email me if you like my pics, the name is iheartdick@hotmail.com

Take out jom from that list and you sir would have a viable comment there.

well even you sometimes and i mean the least amount of some possible, make a less that lolocaust joke...and i'm sure, though i wasn't around as you have pointed out in the past, that you may have had some noob moments urself as a pup...it's just you make a negative post bout his attempt at humor then all the wantabes come in and agree thinking they are as cool as you...this reviewer is at least a decent writer tho so he should keep writing and maybe one day a couple years from now he'll be mynamisawaits...
at taylor: i was more just listing reviewers i really like and jom's awesome but i don't really dig anything he reviews so i rarely post on his reviewsThis Message Edited On 08.30.08

I think the important thing is, this review was quite better than all your previous ones - unless I missed one somehow.
Next time just one or two jokes would be fine, until you're good enough to fit them into an already great review.

The fretwork of Eschbach and Kempainen is nothing short of crunching.

This isn't quite a 5, but pretty close. This is by far your best review yet.

What do people see in this band? Clearly I haven't seen what everyone else has seen.

I don't know why you dont like this band Balls. I think they rule. Mostly because Trevor is one of the most insane metal vocalists ever.

I've hated this band since Miasma came out so I don't think my opinion will change. Never liked Trevor either, meh, to each his own, I just could never get into this band.

the Murder bring something else to the table: melody. It's an odd word to find in an extreme metal album,
Ummmmmmmmmm no.
Sorry, the review seemed fanboyish in its delivery and your descriptions were way over the top, like this:
and it's a landslide, two hurricanes, and a Godzilla attack ahead of it's two predecessors (2003's Unhallowed and 2005's Miasma).
Band/Album is drab and really boring. This Message Edited On 08.30.08

i actually quite like the over-the-top horror movie schtick you've got going on in this review. it's memorable if nothing else. that said, you have really over-rated it - as a fan of the genre, i'd say a 4 at most, but difference of opinion and all that... i know i've been guilty of over-rating albums, but once you've reviewed a few more, it'll probably help to go back and re-evaluate some of your ratings with a little perspective. i did this recently and found that a few i'd rated as 5s were more like 4.5s or 4s given more time to sink in.
IMO "to a breathless oblivion" is the best on here, and "miasma" is their best album overall.

My favorite is either Deathmask Divine or the title track. I think this barely beats out Miasma for their best.
