I've never bothered to check out Nothing and I'm afriad that I will not do that in a near future. I prefer the thrashier Meshuggah so this album was just a huge disappointment. I just think that it is so mindlessly sluggish and boring. I would love to see someone review this album except with a higher rating.

I'm not sure I understand your comment, Deth, since in your first sentence it says, you had not checked out Nothing, and they you talk as if you already did.
I can understand your preferences, and maybe that's what makes this album really great, compared to previous works. That trashy sound you talk about was really perfected, probably even before Chaosphere. So the band takes a different route, and do it in a great fashion. This album is indeed different and at the same time awesome. Obviously, most fans didn't like it, but they were able to try something really different and pull it off.

This was my first Meshuggah album, and yes, I expected too a heavier, faster and trashy stuff. I got something completely different, and eventually I could appreciat it for what it was. The album will be waiting for you when you're ready to give it a fair chance.

A 2? epic fail on your part. This album's rerecording made it absolutely fucking amazing.

Original is better.

ehh... I liked the fuller sound that the rerecording gave it. It just seemed to work more with the idea of providing an extrememly barren soundscape than the other recording.

Original mix is better, drums are pushed way too low in the mix. And given Haake's tendencies to really his crash's and hi hats out on this album it makes the new mix rather redundant.

"rather redundant" is a good way to describe this band's overall sound.

They got deleted because I called a gay cowboy, gay. I have no idea how that was justified but apparently gay cowboys and whiny cunt users called "the smiling creep" (Seriously who the fuck is that user?I've never heard of them prior) bitch to moderators.

And out of everything else you've ever said on this site that's what got you stung? Gay Cowboy was an alt anyway, from a regular user as well.
