yea that's the issue

i remember it being dissonant and not really enjoyable when i listened to it last year but my taste has changed somewhat

we'll see but usually i'm not one for "appreciating" something if i don't get any cursory enjoyment (see: swans) but w/e i'll roll with it

not my cup of tea

my piano teacher knew i had an ear for melody so he always had the toughest time finding something

contemporary that was both sufficiently challenging and melodic (generally ended up being neo-

classical). if i enjoyed dissonant he'd probably have picked out cool shit for me, too bad.

like i said it really does boil down to taste

if it's used to effect then there's still hope of me really enjoying it, but if it's a dissonant work first then i won't like it as much.
