Punch Drunk (b-side from Light Grenades released on Monuments and Melodies) is a really good song though, better than anything on Light Grenades.

agreed

Re-evaluating their discography right now. Most accurate ranking is probably:

S.C.I.E.N.C.E. >> Make Yourself > Morning View >> A Crow Left of the Murder > Fungus Amongus >>> Light Grenades

Actually, let's do that. I just listened to both MY and MV again, and MV is definitely better.

early Incubus ripped off a band called Mr. Bungle. Not a bad thing, but this means that Incubus wasn't one of the first bands to combine several genres. RHCP and Faith no More are good examples

was listening to summer romance today before work. definitely my favorite incubus album. the lyrics are insightful and passionate. the instrumentation is ahead of its time for it's time (at least as far as the direction the mainstream rock market was going) and it still to this day is the only incubus album i can listen to all the way threw.

and i'd have to disagree that incubus ripped mr. bungle. yeah they both mix styles but in my opinion in two very different ways. bungle is for the most part all over the place in the way they mix genres, not really going for a certain sound in-fact the very opposite trying not to sound like anything and everything at the same time. in turn i feel like incubus is very focused in the style they are trying to achieve or in other words going for a certain sound or flavor if you will.

or at least how i interpret it. =]

This is their only album that I still listen to. As far as the Mr. Bungle influence, they used to say that Mr. Bungle and Faith No More influenced their earliest material. It's not as apparent here, but listen to Fungus Amoungus or their demos.
