The only song on MoP that doesn't rule imo is TTTSNB and there are several on here (Escape and TUI most notably) that aren't as good as the rest of the album. I dunno I found myself kinda irritated at some parts of this album and MoP was kind to me all the way through.

I think The Thing That Should Not Be is a really underrated song. I think it's a great track. If you haven't already, listen to the S&M version of it, it might make you see it the way I see it.

I have MOP and RTL both rated 5's, deservedly so in my opinion, but I do prefer this. I think theres more to like on this album. Escape is a pretty catchy song, and Trapped Under Ice is basic thrash, none of which I would call anything less than good songs. In Master of Puppets, I find it difficult to sit all the way through songs like Disposable Heroes, TTTSNB, Damage Inc, and Leper Messiah, although all are incredible songs. Same goes for Justice and some of the tracks on there. Its a little too much of the same thing, while on this, its much more creative and consistently appealing.
I agree with Reznor on TTTSNB is very underrated
but i also love Damage, Inc. Its really just Disposable Heroes and Leper Messiah that are "Good" instead of "Amazing"

I agree with you on Damage, Inc., but I disagree with Disposable Heroes, I think that's a great song. The menacing chorus gets me everytime.
In regards to Leper Messiah, that's my favourite Metallica song. Every part of it kicks arse.

it took me about five seconds to figure out what ride the lightning means man. take a glance at the album cover and that might just give you a hint. as for your review, you were far too harsh. this album is probably my favorite of all of metallica's work. if you can't appreciate it, then you're just trying to find problems with it. metallica was a poor band. it was made in 1984. quality is not going to be that great

Maybe he found problems with it first, then decided he won't appreciate it? Although I think this is the best metal record of all time, I find this to be a fair review.

Hetfield's lyrics are pathetic- Death, death, death and... err... die? Well, I like Fade To Black alot, and I actually find the production better than on Master Of Puppets, as the vocals here are listenable. Good review, though I disagree.

This guy likes radiohead....that makes him loose all ability to judge a metallica album.

Yes he is. I like MOP better, just cus its killer all the way through. RTL has it's up and downs, right now fade to black has really gone down for me.
I for one love TTTSNB, but that might be because im a total cthulhu nerd.

Hold on, I take back saying that the production is better on here. I'm actually beginning to like Master Of Puppets! Not too much, but I prefer it to this now. Still, Hetfield's lyrics are terrible.
