Classic Ryche trumps Fates in every way imaginable.....and i'm a big fates fan as well

Oh I agree man but Fates were way more influential. They're basically the reason why Dream Theater exists.

Only Mindcrime can really trump the top fates records imo, and even that I'm on the fence about. But fates definitely has the most mature and moody compositions out of the 3, and the best vocalist and drummer imo

fates is without question more of a progressive metal band for sure....doesn't make them better......while Q was selling out arenas, fates was playing in small clubs and for good reason, the music is just not as good
The Warning through Promised Land is better than anything Fates have ever done with the exception of maybe one record

Guess we'll have to agree to disagree :-). I guess I prefer the darker nature of Fates. Plus I think their music takes a while to digest and so they didn't achieve much mainstream success.
Warning and Mindcrime are Ryche's best albums. They didn't reach the same level after for me. The other albums range from good to boring

Omair how many times have you heard Promised Land? It's both dark and slow to digest, I can picture you digging it if those two traits are what you are searching for.

It is not that great but i don't mind it there are a couple of good songs in amongst it, but the writing was on the wall really, people state promised land as their last great album but to be honest there are a few stinkers on that this was only following a pattern set by promised land only weaker over all i gave it a 3-

Only song I really like is Chasing Blue Sky. And that was a b-side or bonus track as far as I understand.

Released with the Sign of the Times single and also as a bonus track for Japan indeed.
This gets too much hate to an extent. I occasionally jam: Sign of the Times, Some People Fly, You, Miles Away, Hit the Black, sp00L, Chasing Blue Sky

Interesting album, even if it's not a completely successful effort. What I like is the overall atmosphere, kind of laid-back, which really works well on the road. There's some forgettable material indeed, but the highlights are IMO outstanding, especially the songs completely written by De Garmo.

This is still my least favorite Queensryche album. Down there with Dedicated to Chaos.

3-4 songs on here are real fun

I think falling further in love with Promised Land over the years has softened me up on the bad-ryche albums.
I mean, even if it's just Reach and Spool, it's SOMETHING where I thought there was nothing here. Each album has at least one good track, and usually its 2-3 that are pretty good.
