Yeah, TSD was a lot better in my opinion, I got this cd as soon as it leaked and it just didn't do much for me. Its ashame since they are one of my favorite bands. I do agree with whoever said this was over produced.

Which is wierd because the guitars are very unimpressive. The only thing that caught my eye was the tiny grove riffs they would put in here or there. There was way too much chug chuging and not enough of anything else. If your going to have chuging like that, you should have a more talented lead guitarist than the one they have.

Listen to Daemon if you wanna hear all three guitars. I still can't understand why you seem genuinely bothered that they have three guitarists, as if it harms you in some way. And if you think this album is just straight chugs the whole time, then what the fuck do you think TSD was? They are definitely moving around the fretboard a lot more this time around. This Message Edited On 07.11.08

then you probably shouldn't be allowed to rate albums. i have a problem with the songwriting here too, it's pretty sub-par songwriting here. songs don't flow very well a lot of times.

Still no explanation. You're gonna think I'm disagreeing with you for the sake of doing so, but I don't feel that there are any really out of place parts or anything.

first let me ask, will it make a difference? will ripping this band, that you obviously love, to shreds actually change your mind about ANYTHING. if it won't like i'm assuming, then i won't go into any more detail than pointing at where the problems are atThis Message Edited On 07.11.08

i dont know i think the songwriting is better than on TSD the songs had so many forced breakdowns and riffs that didnt fit into songs

i really think they did a good job on this

but it is definitly not a 5 at all

Who knows, it might. It just seems like the pettiest, most pointless complaint to me.

complaining about songwriting is a petty complaint?? ok let's start there, with songwriting. drumming. the drummer uses the exact same fills throughout. his drumming is far too simplistic for metal. now onto the guitars. while they have THREE guitarists, there is hardly a moment where all 3 are used at the same time, and when they are, it's often 2 playing the same riff with one other plucking something else out. if you don't have a problem with having 3 guitarists doing things that TWO guitarists can accomplish, tehn i don't know what to tell you. that alone should tell you how much skill they have that they need 3 guitars to do the work of two. far too much chugging and no variation. the guitar work is often over produced. on to vocals. especially in "possession" the vocals are INSANELY over produced. often times, you will here the vocals layered over each other and other affects applied like right during the breakdown screaming "we are the disease" just listen to that. then right after it you'll hear an echo affect applied to his voice. these little affects are done throughout the entire record and quickly become tiresome and annoying. really, i could keep goingThis Message Edited On 07.11.08
