To me, the only album that comes close (and it's still a long shot) is Exile on Main St.
I can't think of any album (and especially another double LP) that's as cohesive and just plain awesome as this one...

i've just never bought into its critics darling status. there's variety but i don't think they pull it off with a whole lot of creativity
