this has just the slightest 80's sound that turns me off a bit, love the album but side one just sounds slightly "manufactured" I guess

I don't find it manufactured but the style is much more streamlined and new wave-influenced, which I don't mind. It's still ridiculously technical.

The singing and lyrics in Elephant Talk are probably the only reason I don't have this rated even higher. Would be nice if an instrumental version existed, like there is for Thela Hun Ginjeet.

It's sad that today king crimson is considered creme de la creme of the rock music. I don't enjoy being pretentious with the music I listen to, but crimson seems to be more of a band that a person of the bourgeoisie would listen to.
