Tbqh, its really hard for me to pick a favourite Opeth album. I have never run across a band who been this consistent with releasing solid material.

Orchid is kind of my least favorite, even though it's still great.

I found Morningrise to be their worst, but thats not saying much. When I saw Opeth play live, they played 'Under The Weeping Moon' off Orchid, which gave me a better appreciation for the album. Mikael even claimed to writing that song while he was a pink floyd obsessed, stoned teenager.

Pink Floyd obsesssed, stoned teenager describes a lot of teenagers in that era.

Cream does rule. I'm sure Mikael listened to Cream quite a bit seeing as they were considered 'heavy' by my dads standards hahaha.

album has grown on me since the leak and is great. But I glad someone else noticed what Mikael said about it being "Extremely dark, and Complex" as that went out the window with this release. Very dissapointed that NO lyrics are included. I want another Opeth album already.

It takes a couple of listening sessions to grasp this album.

This is close to being my favorite next to Morningrise and GR. Something that nobody has mentioned is the extreme blues direction that Mikael took for this album. He's a brilliant blues guitar writer and this album reaps the rewards of that. He should make a blues album.

I totally disagree with this, and your paragraphs need to be bigger or combine two together. Other than that its pretty good.

I totally agree with the reviewer.

Every other Opeth album that I have gotten into took a week or two to fully appreciate it, and this album is just kind of there and doesn't take that long to fully understand everything that is going on.

It sounds like that that was what Mikael was going for, but that is not how I like my opeth.

It's not really gutsy for a new user, he doesn't really have anything to lose, but all to gain.
