I think for their time and significance to dm, or just metal overall, you could argue that SBG, Leprosy, Human and/or Symbolic were as innovative/important as Obscura. I would argue that for dm/metal, SBG and Human were more significant.

but Obscura is special no doubt

I'm starting to like thrash more too. But, jams like cryptopsy and decapitated are too good.

yeah death were more influential, i'm just speaking from a purely creative standpoint. thrash is cool but i find that death metal has far higher highs than thrash ever achieved as a genre

DM and BM > thrash in my opinion. i do like some thrash but not as much as the other genres, plus theyre much more diverse than thrash

I don't think I'll ever like thrash as much as dm because 1. death, 2. immolation, and 3. morbid angel

but I love thrash hard, don't get me wrong

I'm just getting into bm. I love it so far, but I have to say I like dm vox better overall. Chuck and Ross Dolan obviously are two of my faves.
