The new song, and some of this cd, the drums are just rediciously overdone.

as a drummer, that was actually one of the first things that came into mind while i was listening to this for the first time, but by the time i listened to the last track i changed my mind.

9 years. 4 years with lessons in Jazz, Latin, and a bit of Rock.
From one drummer to another, if I had another set, I would say, "Whats your address?"

ahhaha yeah thanks man. that's really awesome you have all those different influences in your drumming. wish i had lessons in jazz. i took lessons for a year but my teacher sucked haha. but i have been in about 6 different bands over the past 8 years playing live shows from a jazz pop band to metal, so hopefully my techniques show up from that. man i really would love to really get lessons in jazz drumming

Jazz is very tedious stuff.
Thats cool you've been in so many bands too. I've never had the will to work with other people in a music project. Maybe one day!

yeah it's fun. one year of playing live with bands did 100x more for me than a year of lessons. only bad experience i had was a band where the guitarist thought he was a drummer and tried to tell me how he wanted everything to sound. pissed me off haha

I've been playing perc for almost 6 years, about 4 years set with lessons. My teacher is pretty awesome or a short, bald old man and has taught me a little bit of everything. I'm playing in a jazz band for a summer program right now actually.

Good for you dude (no sarcasm). Thats the way every drummer should start off. Learn metal on your own (it aint hard).
