The second verse in "Debaser" where everything drops out except the guitar and Black just absolutely screams his mind out is one of the most genius things I've ever heard.

This album is classic. I love every song. Mr. Grieves is so underappreciated and La La Love You is fantastic. This Message Edited On 03.09.06

It's a tough choice, but between Surfer Rosa and Doolittle i really prefer DOolittle. It does not only have some of the most catchy hooks and lyrics, but it's what most bands hope they could accomplish!!

Nothing in this album at all compares to the amazing Monkey Got To Heaven. It's my new favorite song.

Ah, No.13 Baby is one of the best things ever. Talk about an arse shaker. The rest of the album ain't bad, either. Here Comes Your Man is a perfect pop song. Tame is outrageous, as is Debaser. Gouge Away is a great closer. Monkey Gone To Heaven is a perfect record. Great single, too. Just a fantastic recording all around.

I think "lala love you" is probably the best song on here, but it's kinda hard to say because almost every song on here is classic

Nirvana who? I listen to this album SO MUCH. Debaser, Crackity Jones, and Wave of Mutilation are classics. No alternative music fan should be without this masterwork of an album.

why does everyone call nirvana a pixies-rip off? if you ask me I'd call them more of a dinosaur jr.-rip off.
Surfer Rosa > Doolittle IMO
There are two tracks on Surfer Rosa that I never listen to ("Tony's Theme and "I'm Amazed) although I like some of the songs on Surfer Rosa more than any of the songs off of Doolittle I still consider this the strongest Pixies album.

This is a classic album that you all need to own. Pixies are one of my top five favourite bands and this album gets a 4.5/5.

Good review for the most part, but i disagree with a few of the individual song ratings. I'd give Mr. Grieves a 4.5 and No. 13 Baby a 5. The guitar solo at the end of the latter is an eargasm.
