I find 3 to be better in a song to song basis but coheed is better overall especially with their boner-inspiringly cheesy parts
agreed, though some coheed is awesomely boner inspiringly cheesy. and Joey's acoustic guitar skills rival that of Jesus's.

Good review, well written, but I tend to disagree with you on a lot of points. The biggest disagreement I have with your review is when you mention the middle tracks, such as Bleeding Me Home and Live Entertainment (perhaps also Been To The Future could be included here). These songs are not anything like filler, nor is the band settling, rather it's a throwback to their old style. Not sure if you're included in this, but a lot of 3 fans don't realize that their old music sounds nothing at all like the majority of this record, or most of Wake Pig. Go check out Paint By Number, their first album... simply amazing, and in my opinion their best record.

Yea, i've never really listened to their old stuff, but Live Entertainment is really lacking compared to the rest of the output on this album...i can't stand the track...it falls back and relies on popular sensibilities rather than trying to be its own unique song...I like Bleeding Me Home and Been to the Future a good deal, and if those are a throw-back they're well done and fresh, but Live Entertainment seems to be trying to appeal to the Indie sensibilities that have taken over popular music and is way to afe to be anything truly special...
