Awesome review. A7X are metal gods and nothing will ever change. No screaming. So F****** what. They are still the greatest to walk the earthThis Message Edited On 06.11.05

Great review. The only thing i disagree with is the comment about Synyster's solo in Seize the Day. Compared to his other work on this album, as well as Waking the Fallen, this songs solo is mild. A few finger taps and some catchy lead, but nothing compared to tracks like eternal rest (wtf) and others. Dont get me wrong though, it's very fitting with the song. I do agree that Gates is undoubtedly one of (if not THE) most talented guitarist of our decade. Once again great review, awesome album.

avenged sevenfold is the best band ever. CoE is a fucking amazing cd. its got some crazy ass solos ( anyone else think the solo from sieze the day sounds like GNR ). the vocals are great, I don't even miss the screaming. overall, the songs are more experimental, but it all sounds good, so there you go

although i gave this the full five marks, i gotta agree, there are some places that seem like they need some screaming in there, but once you give it a few listens, you get used to the new style of vocals. except for the really weird souding (almost operatic) vocals at the end of M.I.A..... still makes me cringe......

but the solos.... *creams pants at the thought of it*

I'd give them the 4.5, they did great, I love the guitars. And the drums break out a lot more than they did on Waking the Fallen. They blended so many other sounds from the 80's of metal. Less screaming, but it doesn't make too big of a deal. But I just don't see it as an instant classic, because only time will tell... But that's my take, go buy City of Evil because it's a great album. Peace out.

This was a pleasant suprise. Being the metalcore enthusiast that I am, I had relatively low expectations for this album. The album exceeded my expectations and came back and shat all over them.

Simply a great, solid album and a pleasant suprise.

I really want to get this. Hopefully even Beast And The Harlot will grow on me because I hated that song at first.

Okay.....I have STST and Waking the Fallen, and they were both amazing, but THIS album, by f**king far, is their best yet...I just bought it recently, and it is amazing...Trashed and Scattered is my favorite song on this album. Good review as well

This CD is terrible, it's god-aweful. They did nothing new on it, so now one of the most over-rated bands of all time has come out with a Guns N' Roses clone with heavier music and less talent.

OK UnskathedGuitar: I could understand if you simply dont like A7X, not everyone has the same taste in music. But to say that the band isn't talented is just moronic. LISTEN TO THE ALBUM. And really listen. Hear those drums? Hear that guitar? Listen to Waking The Fallen while you're at it. No guitarist, or musician of any kind for that matter, could listen to these songs and call the band untalented. And i can see how some wouldn't like Shadows' voice. It can be whiney at times, but the things he can do with his voice are incredible. So either you didn't listen to the album, or any albums, and are just randomly flaming a band that doesn't fit your scene...or you have trouble hearing.

This album is worth way more than what I paid for it. I agree the vocals on Burn it Down can get annoying, But overall its is beyond words. IMO I think Blinded in Chains is better then the reviewer says.

great album... waking the fallen was better in my opinion. If M. Shadows diddnt blow out his voice think of how amazing this album would be with his voice being as powerful as it was on WTF. I dont mind the no screaming but I would like a little of it just to impact like he did on WTF. But all in all amazing metal album.

okay, Eleven57. This band sucks, I'm a musician, I still think they suck. The vocals are horrible, the lyrics are horrible, the guitars seem forced almost like the guitarist is just playing around while the music remains constant in the background. The drums arn't anything special either, doing a straight double bass pattern or a few blast beats by no means requires very much talent. On a final note, the vocals suck, they should've just got Axl Rose, not tried to sound like him.

The vocals on this album i cannot stand.

The instrumental portion i love.

I should pick this up sometime. I like A7X quite a bit...i always thought the band had a lot of talent in them. Especially the guitars...
