I can't decide what to rate this, sometimes I love it, and other times I just cannot listen to it.

lol I remember that. I was gonna counter it with Best Summer Albums List and have it be Pavement repeated for 100 albums.

then I would counter that with the Weakerthans list again

I thought the music was good. The lyrics are amazing though. EDIT: Wrong review, my bad.

Jesus a fucking decade? Crazy. These guys are great from what I’ve heard so far. A fucking DECADE is a travesty.

There's another thread that's been a bit more active. I got into these guys about....I think it was 4 months ago? Shot to my top 5 bands of all-time in a month.

Man, I’m loving this so far. Hard to say if it’s as good as Left and Leaving after only one listen though.
I do wish some of the songs had been developed a bit more — nearly every song is less than 3 minutes and a handful feel like they would have benefited from a bit longer runtime.

That's a very valid criticism, Lark. I felt that way as well at first but I've come to love the to-the-point nature of these songs. I kinda see this and Left and Leaving as two sides of a coin. One is sprawling and emotionally striking, the other is warm and, in some ways, almost campy. The short lengths only add to this record's charm and character.

Yeah I was thinking that the reasoning behind the short and to the point songs would come to fruition as I listen more.

Just been through Left and Leaving and would reverse that - everything about this album feels so sharp and succinct in a way that the other lacks somewhat

You weren’t into Left and Leaving? Fantastic album. I definitely need to give this more listens, I know it’ll continue to grow.

I can imagine that starting here and going back to Left and Leaving would he harder than starting at L&L. This is so accessible and easy to love, L&L takes some digging and isn't as immediate as this.

Definitely wouldn't say I wasn't into it haha, but I agree with Luc's assessment completely - going to have to dig into L&L

Having trouble getting into this as much as Left and Leaving, which is a 4.5 for me. But — I’ll continue listening to see if it grows more. Some songs are fucking great though, like Manifest, Elk Lodge and Prescience of Dawn (best song here).
