nothing can beat Stephen Malkmus's lyrics. As said in a recent issue of Paste, "it's like when the nerd goes head to head with the class clown".. or something.

I am completley in love with this album. Find it slightly better than Slanted and Enchanted and Brighten the Corners.

"Cut Your Hair" is my current obsession

I've been meaning to get this album but Pavement's been kind of hit or miss from what I've heard. I love "Cut Your Hair" and "Gold Soundz" but other songs like "Range Life" just don't click with me. The deluxe edition for this was only like $15 for near 50 tracks so I guess it can't be a total waste.

They're more like The Killers and Keane.

It's more like a lazier Sonic Youth and Pixies combination, but they really do switch sounds alot.

Fillmore Jive is pretty much the best song ever written.

wow, i dont know what happened, but i find this album bordering on average and kinda boring now. some stand out songs, but overall it just doesn't kick as like slanted.

nah it'd be too hard to dissect this album with the intent of proving it's boring to its loyal fanbase.

Y'know, that's precisely why I never really got into Slanted & Enchanted. It's also why I never properly enjoyed Iron & Wine's The Creek Drank The Cradle. I dig the music, but I can't bear to listen to the kind-of off production.

As for Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain...I really can't precisely explain just how much I sodding love the album. It's almost unfair to put words to my thoughts on the album.
