Maiden seems to have two songs on almost every album (except maybe the self-titled and perhaps Somewhere in time) that just aren't as good as the rest, in this case it is Duelists and flash of the blade, will that stop me from declaring them the best band in history? not at all, the rest more than compensates, its unreasonable to expect divinity in every song anyway

I was into Metallica and then i got Live After Death. Maiden has broadened my musical taste and this is in the top 3 of best albums i have.

I really don't think that Duelists and Flash of the Blade were letdowns. They both had amazing solos and they were both interesting to listen to.

this is the best album in all time i reckon.

good review but i disagree with flash of the blade, i reckon it rocks all the way but OK.

i'm a guitarist and i can play aces high, 2 minutes to midnight,
flash of the blade and back in the village which are all really awesome. aces high is probably my fav. and i can play the solo aswell, -it took me a while but it's so worth it.

all u instrument players, these songs are totally worth it to learn.

I love The Duellists, I listen to it much more than Rime of the Ancient Mariner. Also, I always felt Transylvania was much better than Losfer Words, Clive's drumming is inspiring.

Recommended:

Aces High

2 Minutes to Midnight

The Duelists

Back in the Village

Powerslave

The rest I'll skip on occasions but still a classic album.

Aces High is incredibly easy to play on guitar. It was one of the first songs I learned.

This was the first metal album I ever bought. It remains a favorite for me as a Maiden album, and a metal album.

Amazing album, one of Maiden's best. There's not really a bad song on it, in my opinion.

I don't really get why this album is considered so good. I mean, i'm a big Iron Maiden fan, and 2 Minutes To Midnight and Aces High are great, but the rest are just average imo.

I listened to powerslave, and i thought it was pretty bad imo. ROTAM is good, but too long imo to sit through multiple times.
