The Drapery Falls has the best opening in music. Ever. Plus, Mikael himself called the song "horny". Although I'm not sure how to take that.
Ghost Reveries is godly. Did anyone write a review of it yet? I'd do it justice.
I did, sorry.
I gave this album a few tries and couldn't get into it. I might've listened to the wrong songs or whatever, but what I heard really bored me. I prefer Still Life, MAYH, and most of all Ghost Reveries. GR sparked further interest into Opeth for me so I may look into this again.

i am thinking of purchasing an opeth album but which is better in any opeth fan's opinion; their new album Ghost Reveries or this. I just cannot decide.

Patterns In The Ivy may be short, but it is what made me want to play the guitar. I kept practicing and got lessons just so I could play it on the acoustic guitar. Nice review, man. Although I have to say I don't care for The Drapery Falls that much.

Blackwater Park is definitely more "classic" Opeth. I would buy it first, then later buy Ghost Reveries. GR is more of a different style of Opeth.
I have to say I don't care for The Drapery Falls that much.
:o!! What's not to like? I honestly don't see one reason to dislike it. To each his own though, I guess.

I'm finally listening to this album, and I'm only 2 tracks in. After this amount of time, I think that it's safe enough to give this album a 5/5. This is fucking AMAZING!

Best. Metal album. Ever.
Flawless, great musicianship...simply amazing. This is more of a mind-blowing album than anything. I can't find any flaws in it.
I was speechless when I heard this for the first time.

this is a good cd, and good review, but i think that dirge for november deserves a little more credit. I mean the intro/acoustic/electric part alone is awesome. Ill admit that after idt gets "heavier", its not the best, but still, the intros awesome. So is patterns in the ivy, too bad it wasnt longer though.

Oddly, the intro to Dirge for November is one of my least favourite Opeth parts. The clean singing is off-key and sounds intentionally so. I actually prefer the slower, heavier parts of the song.

My favorite metal album ever. Just simply amazing music here. The way it sounds, the riffing, the haunting atmosphere...it's all perfect.

Still Life is better, for me. Possibly the second best Opeth album. Morningrise is good competition, but, as an album, I think this beats it.

I. LOVE. this. album.
Everything about it is just brilliant...the completely evil riffs, Mikael's hell-rumbling growls, yet awesome clean voice, the beautiful acoustic numbers...just phenomonal.
If this isn't a 5/5, then what is? There's no other way to put it.

"The Drapery Falls" is what relaly got me into Opeth, and since then I'v eobtained all their albums so I really owe my love for Opeth to this record. It's a classic to me.

I think Scruples review was better though.
Why post that here? This is MY review, bitch. :p
