I disagree, this album is way too long. The guitar work is really good and I really like a couple of the tracks, mainly "Postlapsaria," but Billy's lyrics can be really ridiculous sometimes. It's too much to listen to the whole album some times.

The people who rip on this being samey or too teen-underdeveloped need to just stop.
If you can come up for some justification for this that doesn't involve "OMG ANGST" or "OMG ITS A DISCOGRAPHY", I'd love to hear it.
It's too samey. The fact remains that while it wasn't meant to be listened to as a whole, that's how it is packaged to listen to right now, and thus, that's how I'm going to judge it. I can listen to a couple of discographies and not get affected by any sort of lack of variety. I'm not faulting Saetia, I'm just saying I don't enjoy it as much as I possibly could if it wasn't jam packed with subpar material. Granted it's a given with a discography, but that doesn't mean anyone should curb their enjoyment of it for that fact alone.

You basically say all the time "Oh its a discography, it's not meant to be listened to as a whole". Well, the way it's presented is as this collection, in this order, whether or not the band meant for it to be done that way. You say that you can't knock points for it being too samey or having subpar songs because of it. So what, someone is supposed to neglect a glaring negative quality in it because of that? They are supposed to curve** their score to fit in with how the band wanted the songs to be listened to? I don't think that's at all logical. Rate whatever full length or EP they may have produced a five, but the way this is presented is far from that.
EDIT: Not for nothing, but Billy's lyrics in Hot Cross are wayyyyyy less contrived and overly wordy. This Message Edited On 08.27.07
